How to Create Systems That Actually Support You
Systems aren't just productivity tools—they're containers for honoring your inherent worth. If you've ever wondered how systems tie in with self worth, these three tips from my Sacred Systems program will show you the way.
Tip #1: Cultivate "Queen Energy"
I like to think that the energy upholding Sacred Systems is a “Queen Energy” because you’re learning to see yourself as above certain things.
You are above having to look for a link, wade through through clutter, or check off to-do lists that don't actually serve you.
You are above tolerating dysfunction.
You are above being stuck behind your laptop for hours on end.
You have better things to do - hobbies to enjoy, books to read, delectable dinners to leisurely prepare with Chet Baker singing jazz in the background (or is that last one just me? ☺️).
This shift from seeing value in busyness to seeing value in your personal peace is how systems become “sacred” because now they’re protecting instead of sacrificing the most valuable asset - YOU.
When you create systems that actually protect your peace and well-being, you're making a statement about your worth. You’re proclaiming to yourself “I’m a freaking queen!”
Tip #2: Stop “working harder”
Systems are not about getting more done faster. They're about creating the space to slow down. To reconnect with yourself. To feel alive and self-aware.
In the beginning of setting up your Sacred System, this “slow down” effect will help you realize where you're neglecting your needs and where you're doing too much.
When we work too hard and do too much, our ability to make wise decisions for ourselves becomes dull. We become blind to the "holes in the bucket" and overcompensate by working even harder.
A woman’s power is in her “being-ness.” Not her “doing-ness.”
If you want to use systems effectively, let go of the "just work harder" default mode and start challenging yourself to work less. Working less will force you to think less in terms of effort and more in terms of systems and self-worth.
There's no reward for being a "productivity queen"—other than more work.
What you want to aim for is being a relaxed woman. Because a relaxed woman is wise, present, and powerful.
Tip #3: Meet Yourself Where You Are
Systems are always a journey, never a finished product. You’re learning to meet yourself where you're at, make things as easy as possible for your present self, and savor the slow but powerful progress you’re making every time you interact with your system.
It’s so tempting to feel guilty about not being "further along". But here's what I’ve learned: there is no "behind." There is only the present moment. And the best thing you can do is BE here. In the present moment. Meeting yourself where you’re at. Stop resisting where you are right now and embrace it - because that’s what it’s going to take to make systems that actually work for the TRUE you.
Your system will evolve as you evolve. What works for you today might need tweaking next month, and that's not a problem—that's the point. A living system adapts to your life. It grows with you.
