Freedom without structure turns into chaos

The book that taught me the most about masculine and feminine energy is by G.S. Youngblood. It showed me that you need a safe masculine energy for your feminine energy to be in its truest form.

Feminine energy is a response to masculine energy.

So maybe you think, let's get rid of the structure. Let's get rid of these systems. I don't want to be bogged down. I want to be free. I want to express myself.

But if you remove structure, systems, and order, you will not end up with feminine energy. You will end up with chaos. You will feel unsafe and not grounded. And eventually you will overcompensate with a toxic form of masculinity. Overworking. Burning the candle at both ends. Being reactive.

A lot of women are scared of systems. I understand why. Many of us have only seen systems that were patriarchal, misogynistic, or just plain toxic. But I believe in healthy masculine energy. I am not trying to only do things the girl power way. We need both to really thrive.

A system should feel like a loving partner

The best masculine energy comes from having a way of doing things so you do not have to work harder, but the thing still gets done.

When you set up a system, put yourself in the shoes of a loving, devoted partner. Imagine your partner comes to you and says:

"Hey, honey, I'm taking you out for dinner tonight. You don't have to worry about a thing. I booked the restaurant. There's a babysitter for the kids. Everything's ready. The car is clean. All you have to do, honey, is put on that nice dress and be ready by six."

That is the feeling systems should give you.

Not, "Let's go out to dinner tonight. Where do you want to go? Could you call and make a reservation? Oh, and didn't the car need new tires?"

This is where your well-being comes first. Systems are how you let yourself receive support. Feminine energy is not "I can do it all by myself." It is feeling safe enough to receive support and work less so you can just BE who you ARE more.

Your value does not come from how hard you work. You are already valuable just because you exist. You can’t do anything to add or subtract from your inherent, priceless value. The harder you work when you do not need to, the more you lose touch with that truth.

This is my podcast studio inside Say Yes to Desire.

Your business should protect your energy and give you energy, not drain your energy.

Here’s what this looks like with my podcast, for example:

I do not wait for my content calendar to tell me it is time to record. When I have an idea, I turn on the mic and talk. No notes. No planning.

Then I let the system do the rest. I have made anything that can be done with a click of a button into a button.

Publishing. One button takes me straight to the exact page on Spotify for Podcasters where I drop in the MP3. Not the home page. The exact page. No logging in and clicking around.

Transcript. Another button turns the episode into a transcript.

Written content. I drop the transcript into a Claude project. It turns my raw words into a blog post, podcast and YouTube descriptions, and Pinterest pin copy.

Graphics and video. One button turns the title into Pinterest graphics. Another turns the episode into a YouTube video.

Next step. Every blog post template ends with an invitation to take the next step. I do not have to remember to tell people what I sell.

Outro. I recorded my outro once. It invites people to join the newsletter, and I reuse it nearly every episode.

You do not need my exact tools. Whatever you use, look for the steps you repeat every time. Then ask how you could do them once. A template. A saved link to the exact page. A recorded outro.

I did not start here. It took time to set this up, learn the skills, and build the tools. But the alternative is starting from scratch every time you publish. Remembering what to do, where to go, and what the link is. That is what drains you.

You get to receive energy back

A good system does more than save time. It lets energy flow back to you.

First, when your voice goes out into the world instead of sitting in a file, you see yourself. You stop hiding. You stop suppressing yourself. To me that is the first reason to have a podcast. It breaks the cycle of self suppression. And that gives you more things you want to talk about.

Second, people get to know you. The most intimate way to promote your business is to talk like a normal person. With a podcast, people can just press play while they are cooking, cleaning, or driving.

When that connection happens, people want to stay in touch. Where is the newsletter? What do you offer? Your system makes sure that next step is always there.

It becomes a circle that feeds itself. The content brings traffic. The traffic finds your offers. The revenue keeps the business turning. And you feel supported, with room to enjoy your life and come up with more ideas. You are not in survival mode.

Ask Yourself

Take a moment with these.

1. Where am I starting from scratch every single time?

2. What is one step I could do once and reuse forever?

3. Where am I working harder than I need to, and how would it feel to let a system hold that for me?
